Learning Objective: Add knowledge about everyday objects to the computer database and answer the AI's questions about the relationship between objects.

Key Features: Lena takes text input from the keyboard and checks it agains rules (i.e. keyword combinations) and then responds with facial expressions, speech synthesis and on screen text.

R & D Challenges: Setup and test a Linux based research program for evaluation. Foster long-distance working relationship with Research Scientist Tim Chklovski at the University of Southern California's Information Sciences Institiute (using VNC, SSH, and Instant Messaging technology). Convert the system to a Windows 2000 based system.
