Cinco de Mayo
Well, today is Cinco de Mayo and we worked at the Cinco de Mayo festival on the west side of St. Paul teaching pinhole cameras, infared scopes, and thaumotropes. It was fun to walk around and see everything, but i didnt like the weather....cold and rainy:-(. Since the weather was so bad we left early and came back to the Science Museum. We played a game where we each had a balloon tied to our ankle and we had to try to pop everybody else's balloon. It was alot of fun and it was also great exercise!!! Well, thats all for now!

On the floor
Today we went on the floor and taught kaleidoscopes which is something we haven't taught in a while. I think it went really well we actually had a lot of visitors come to our table, it was surprising because we even had adults coming up wanting to make kaleidoscopes. On another note, it is really cold outside, like below zero and its NOT fun, I hope my legs don't fall off on my way home today. But other than that nothing new going on with me, bye for now!!;-)

Race Workshop
On Thursday I participated in a Race Workshop for the upcoming exhibit to the museum called Race. There was a play writer there who is creating a play to go along with the exhibit. She had different exercises for us to do asking us to write down our answers. She read off different words like: freedom, culture, race, rights etc.... and we had to write what we thought they meant. We did other activities and I actually got alot out of this experience, because I really dont think about race or culture very often but this opened my mind to really realize how society plays a part in this issue, and I think I changed some of my views about the meaning of some of these words.

THANKSGIVING!!!!!!
Well, its that time of the year again when everyone rushes out to the stores to get food for Thanksgiving....and lately I have really been thinking about what Thanksgiving really means to me. To me. Thanksgiving is a time where my family can come together no matter what troubles or problems we have had during the year and just share stories, and spend time together. My family doesnt get together alot, so this day really means alot to me. It is also a time to share what you are thankful for....I am thankful for many things; Im thankful for the wondorful family I have, my friends, my job, and my co-workers who make my job so much fun! I am thankful for my health, my education and the teachers who make it possible, and I am thankful to the people in Iraq and all of the people in the U.S. military...I may not agree with the war that is going on right now, but I truely am thankful to them for protecting our country.
