The team
The biggest surprise this week for me was, that Dallas lost to Golden State. This is about the NBA. The first seed against the 8th seed. The 8th is of course Golden State. They beat the Mav in a 7 game series. They won four game and the Mav won only 2 game. The two team only played six game all together, but it was out of a 7 game series like I said. It only happen only about 5 time in the NBA history that a 8th seed beat a first seed. That was a big surprise.

Cinco De Mayo!
Today the Make it crew had an outreach at the Cinco De Mayo festival in West St. Paul, it was really fun. We made inferred goggles, pinhole camera's, and thaumatropes. The projects seemed to be a really big hit with the kids because they seemed really fascinated in what we were doing. It was really cooling seeing the Hispanic culture first hand. Like there traditional attire, food, and also hearing the language all over the place. After we got back to the YSC we discussed or schedules for the summer, and also talked about our over night at the aquarium. I really excited hopefully everything comes together so we can all spend 1 more great time together before the make it team says goodbye :-(. After was were done with that we played this awesome game with balloons. The object was to try and pop the other persons balloon while it was tied around their ankle. I split while playing and popped my own balloon! How lame. O well we all had a really fun time playing it. I see that games many times in our future.

OMG..... so today me and the whole make-it crew went down to the west side of st. paul and went to the big 5th of may celebration........ there was an over abundance of activities to do.... and im glad that the make-it crew was able to be part of it.. what we did there is we showed kids how to make Thaumatropes, inferred goggles, and pin hole camera's...... The whole day was going quite well... excepted that it was kinda windy.... but we handled that by putting rocks that we brought on everything..... but then to make matters worse it started to rain..... so we had to pack up and head back to the museum... but oh well the time we had there was tons of fun..... hope to do it next year!!!!!!!!

Cinco de Mayo
Today, the Make It team went to Cinco de Mayo in West St. Paul and worked in the kid area. We first came and set up and then went to the petting zoo area. There were cute animals there like lambs, and rabbits, and even a piglet. Then, we started a cold and long day of work. We made pinhole cameras, infra-red goggles, and thaumotropes with visitors. Later, on break, i bought some expensive mini donuts and later found out that i could have gotten some for less... :} But, they were satisfying none-the-less. Afterwards, we left the festivities before it started to rain and headed back to the museum. Then, to end the day, we played a game where we all had balloons tied to our legs and we tried to pop everyone else's balloons while trying to save your own. It was overall a very enjoyable day and i hope that we could do something like this again.

Cinco de Mayo
Well, today is Cinco de Mayo and we worked at the Cinco de Mayo festival on the west side of St. Paul teaching pinhole cameras, infared scopes, and thaumotropes. It was fun to walk around and see everything, but i didnt like the weather....cold and rainy:-(. Since the weather was so bad we left early and came back to the Science Museum. We played a game where we each had a balloon tied to our ankle and we had to try to pop everybody else's balloon. It was alot of fun and it was also great exercise!!! Well, thats all for now!

Outreach at Rivers
Make It went to Rivers which is which is a resistance for seniors. We had the DART seniors help us teach second and fourth grades because there were only a few of us and needed their help. It was great working with DART. They were good helpers. There was a lot of second graders and the fourth graders was a bit less. I was help teaching the new pinhole camera and I was teaching vocal cords. I was surprised that most of the second and fourth graders' first try of making their vocal cord work worked. I had a lot of fun teaching them.
