Today and Tomorrow Away

Today I learned how to make a book in the I-Photo program and it was pretty interesting. On the floor today we're doing crickets, fart machines and flashlights. This morning Naana, Molly, Hannah and I already did crickets for our morning shift and it was pretty fun. So that was today. For tomorrow I'm not really talking about tomorrow, I'm talking about next weekend. This coming Thursday I will be leaving to go to Breezy Point, MN with my Police Explorers for competition. We will be leaving at 9 a.m. April 26 and won't get back until some time in the afternoon on April 29. While we are up there we will be competing while also having fun. Until next time this is Big B signing out.

iPhoto, crickets, Galore!

If feels like forever since I have been to the Science Museum! Because I was busy taking the dreaded ACT's but now i am done ! Gladly and ready to get back to work and learn more about science! Today was a different day, because for the past few times since I have been coming early on Saturdays Rachel and I have been working on trying to create a project on the brain. But instead we worked with crickets and iPhoto, which was really fun, it was nice to change it up. This morning when I got here I found out that Mike, Molly and Hannah were going to be joining me on Saturday which made me really happy! Then that way I wouldn't have to be alone. But anyways after that great surprise we learned how to work more with the crickets, and also how to teach the visitors about the science of crickets. After we took a break the rest of the Make it team joined us at 1:00. We split up, half of us when on the floor to work more with crickets, and the other half, when to LTC and learned how to use iphoto! By the way I am absolutely in love with iphoto! unfortunately my family does not own a mac computer, we own PC's so i can not use and create my own books because of that. But i am determined to some how find the closest software to iphoto, so i can make all the books, and scrapbooks I have ever dreamed of!

MAIKOU's spring break

Spring break started on April 1 and lasted for a whole week. School-free for a whole week. How awesome is that. I know it's gonna rock. Admission Possible gave us a chance to go and visit college, just to see if we would like it or not. So on Monday, I went to visit the Universtiy of Wisconsin Lacrosse. I know for a fact that i wasn't allow to go away far for college, since my mommy gave me the talk about "not going to far" and riding to Lacrosse was sooo long. I was bored. Very bored. Anyway, when we got there I liked the place, it was a very nice environment. This student took us sightseeing and seeing the campus I was totally into it. But not so sure. Have to talk to my parents. I had a great time there but this one girl was totally getting on my nerves. Gosh, she is so selfish. Every question she ask was about her, and she was constantly asking question. I'm a person that can get annoyed easily. Very easily. Anyway so that was my Monday.
On Tuesday, I came to the science museum and we got to know something from different group that was in the ysc. Our Make-it team taught others how to do vocal cord cup and how to play our game-----> 3 peas in a pod. (which they

What I did over my Spring Break

On Monday of my spring break I went on my job shadow with Clearance to Urban Works to meet a archieteach name Dave. He first showed us the work he and others were working on then later we met others and see what they do and what type of soft ware they use. Then we went on a tour on the building 730 which they are building right now. We were standing on the first floor while people where working then we went doen the latter to see the parking lot. I thought it was amazing of how they build buildings.

On Wednesday I came to work and learned the two technology I signed up for they were scratch and stop-motion. I learned how to use them before but I wanted to learn more about it and refresh my memory. On Friday I came back and I got into a group to got on what we learned to make up a project to present. I was with Oliver and Omar. We did our project using stop-motion. The story was someone went for a walk in the park and a ball came and hit him on the head and knock him into the lake. Batman and a zebra was fighting in the back but what wasn't the point of the main idea. Someone came to help the person in the lake and they shook hands then a UFO came and took the person who save the person from drowning. I enjoyed working with my group and watching other groups work.

What It Do?

Soon we will be doing an outreach with the senior citizens. This should be a lot of fun. They will be interesting to teach, at least I think they will. Our crew now has a thing called "shifts", this makes me sad:( Having these shifts means that a few members will only be here on Saturday. On the other hand, having them here one day instead of not at all, is the better part of the shifts.

Planning for Spring Break...

Today, we discussed what the Make It team will be doing during Spring Break. A few of us will be doing job shadowing with some of the workers here in the Science Museum, which should be interesting and enlightening. We will also be doing several different workshops with pay during the break. We also are preparing materials for an upcoming outreach in April with seniors and children. That should be fun because i will get out of school. ( Yay!:-] ) I think that this could turn out to be a very enjoyable Spring Break.

Native American Day @ the SMM!!!

Today is Native American Day @ the SMM, the team went up to check it out after everyone was done with their research on vocal cord jepordy. We also saw a clip on vibration. The clip was about how vibration could create different waves depending on the pitch of the sound that is being put on it. We went up to the floor and saw a part of the drumming that the drummers had put on to see. I thought it was really cool how they value mother nature so much and she had given to them and everyone around. It ws fun!!
