Getting there....

The Make It Team is working very hard on getting our projects into mini size so that they would fit into the balls that we have to put them in. So far the team has about 7 to 9 projects to fit into the balls. We're also working on making good but short and small print instructions to put into the ball. ( I hope they fit...>.

Good to be back, but sad to have a headache:(

Today i finally get to see my team again, after missing this week of work for Driver's Ed.
The only thing about is that I'm not able to enjoy myself because I have this annoying headache.
I knew it was gonna be there on my way here, but i missed my team so much, i just had to come.
It sucks though cause I can't communicate with them they way I normally do. Also we were doing four projects on the floor today, and I missed out. Most of them were some of my favorite ones. i know that next Saturday will be better, at least i hope:(

OOBLECK!!!!!

Today on the floor the non-newtonian fluid called oobleck (corn starch mixed with water) was a hit. John, Kia, Molly and I have been showing and telling people about it all day. For every pound of corn starch you need to mix in two cups of water. I've been playing with the "goop" so much that it has dryed out my hands but I know that that would happen. At one point we had to change the "goop" because it was getting pretty dry and dirty. While I was making a new batch of oobleck when like 8-10 people came and sat down if front on me and asked me what I'm making. As I was telling them what it was, I was mixing it up, slapped it a couple of times to see if it was good and then I told them that it was done and that they could play with it now. Well it's time for me to go so until next time this is Big B signing off.

The game tomorrow

Tomorrow the game between my team, the Colts and the Bears will begin. The team that I think will win is of course is my team the Colts will win. The game tomorrow is the first time in NFL history that two black coach face each other. Also it is the first time that Payton Manning is in the super bowl. There are a lot of people saying that the Colts is going to win. So let see who will win tomorrow.

What a Infrared day

On Saturday Feb. 3rd of 2007 Make It team was up on the three exhibit floor like every Saturday. One of the project was the infrared tube which was made up with blue and red special see through papers, toilet rollers, tape, and construction papers; black, purple, and blue. The difficult part of making the infrared tube with the visitors was taping the two blue and one, red special see through papers on the toilet roll. As Make It continued making infrared tubes it got a bit easier for Make It to tape the special see through papers taped on to the toilet roll and help the visitors. It wasn't much of a busy but was just right for them to teach their visitors at their tables.

On the floor

Today we went on the floor and taught kaleidoscopes which is something we haven't taught in a while. I think it went really well we actually had a lot of visitors come to our table, it was surprising because we even had adults coming up wanting to make kaleidoscopes. On another note, it is really cold outside, like below zero and its NOT fun, I hope my legs don't fall off on my way home today. But other than that nothing new going on with me, bye for now!!;-)

Goop/ Bloop

Have you hear of materials called non-newtonian? Non-newtonian is a substance that acts like a solid when force is applied and becomes a fluid when you let it sit. An example of this is something called goop/bloop. This material acts like a non-newtonian. The materials that are required to make goop/bloop are just water and corn starch. Its a fun activity to do with kids of all ages as long as there are adult supervision. This is also one of the activities that the Make it Team is doing on the floor today, along with infred googles and kalidoscopes.

Infrared goggles

Nou had been working on Infrared goggles, a new project that she started. And so I decided to help her with it. I know that Travis will be happy, since he love Infrared goggles. Hey, haven't seen him for the longest time. Yeap. Anyway, infrared goggles are hard to understand. As I 'm teaching the kids on the floor, I'm learning something new each time. Rachel taught me a new current science news. The one about the stars, I don't get it at all. I don't get how infrared goggles have to do with the story. The other story that Rachel told me is about how scientist use infrared goggles to see bats. She said that infrared goggles see the heat of light and sun and like the sun, that bat have heat too, so using the infrared goggles you can see thier heat. The color of the heat is red. At first I knew nothing about infared goggles but as I keep on doing them, I learn alot and I hope I'll be able to remember this. Infrared goggles are amazing.
