Today is our second saturday back from break. The projects that we doing on the floor are balloon power car, boats, and fruit band. The thing is that today we couldn't find the table that we usually use for today. So we used the table that the volunteer use.

Race Exhibit
Today, while half of our team was on the floor making projects, the other half saw the race exhibit. It was a very interesting exhibit about people's assumptions and facts on race. It showed how little people know about each other's races and gave a good understanding of different cultures. I saw a few people I knew in some of the videos and pictures and they told about their experiences with how people view them. It was a good experience and I learned a lot from it.

Computer Password Security
Yesterday the Make It team read two articles about internet password safety. Analyzing 20,000 MySpace Passwords looks how secure passwords are on the internet. Make It also read a more technical piece about Password Recovery Software is getting smarter about guessing passwords. For a more humorous take on password security, today's Dilbert comic.

Mai Kou's break and vending machine
WOW! I haven't been in here for a while, and to tell the truth I kinda miss this. Yeap I do. Over the three weeks that we didn't work, I stayed home a lot, doing nothing. I was missing work, and I grew tired just staying home. Before we were of to break, we had our "Secret Santa", where we each drew name and whoever name we got we brought them present. We had a party with pizza and Mike's grandma brownies. It was delicious. Thank you, Mike's grand ma for the brownies. I loved it. It was very good. After I was full, couldn't move at all, we played Jeopard. And my team, Naana, Keng and I won. It was fun, I had a great time. After that we pass out our present to each other. Liz and Rachel made each of us our own picture ornament so that we can hang it on our tree, which I did. And it looked gorgeous on that that tree. Thank you again Liz and Rachel. I loved it. My secret Santa was Nou, so I brought her a clutch. I hope she use it though. Hannah, my secret Santa got me a pair of sock/shoe slipper. Just what I wanted. I love her. And I were it all the time at home. It's really comfy. After that we went home. My three weekend I celebrated Christmas, and got many new things which I eventually love. I went shopping, went to spend 2 days and 3 nights at St. Olaf, since my sister goes there. We, my 3 sister and I went to class with her and we got to experience a day of college life feels like. And the food over there were just so DELICIOUS. We just kept on going for more and more, until we couldn't go no more. I had a lot of fun, staying over there. There's spring break to hang out over there again. Yes! I went ice skating with some of my friends and then went to eat pho. I had a great time and the pho was good. Then school started. And then work.
So for the past weeks now, the team had been working on vending machine, since we are done in June. Since we are leaving, the team agree that we should leave behind our activities in the Science Museum using vending machine.
Each of us work on each thing that had to deal with our activities and vending machine. Hannah, Kia, and I work on the vending machine history: Have vending machines been used like putting activities in before?; What has been sold in these vending machines? and Where are the vending machines located? (Stores, libraries, museums etc.). We founded a lot of informations that were useful. Then we wrote I proposal. And we finish.Mai Kou – January 17, 2007 – 5:55pmMai Kou's blog – login to post comments
Math, Math Math......and more Math!
Today on the make it team we talked more about the proposal we are working on to put a vending machine in the museum to leave our lovely legacy ! After we were done playing some fun games we slit up and worked individually on your parts that we were assigned to make the proposal a good one! I worked on the pricing and what it would take to put the slide together ( or the model virus) into the vending machine. I did tons and tons math because i had to figure the pricing of the materials, the time it would take, and every math thing possible. But other wise it was a good day!

vending machine project
The Make It team is currently working on a vending machine to dispense some of our previous projects. I and a few others are working on gathering up our comic life's and current science stories. We are not displaying all of our comic life's, only the few that we plan to put into our vending machine. I found an old comic life for slide-togethers which looked a little old. My group took it upon ourselves to recreate that comic life. This time, it is more colorful and more detailed. Well I hope that you enjoy the comic life and i hope that we will one day see our vending machine up and running.
