Today I found the car I’ll make. I’ll make an Australia Car. It’s movement can be a kangaroo jumping up and down; or maybe a light shining for the sun. No, I like the kangaroo. If that does not work I’ll make a swimming platypus. On one side there will be the map of Australia. Next to that there will be that bronze bottle cap with an Australian animal or capital city’s name.

Besides that bottle cap I have a another bottle cap and a few other things. On the other bottle cap it says something about dogs and humans. Under that I’ll put a picture of a dingo and say something like Australia’s dog. I also found a wine glass that I’ll fill with some kind of red item.

I think I will paint but there probably will be a lot more glued on then painted. Or maybe I will end up with a big collage with added details. No, I won’t do that. For certain I’ll paint.

I know I’m going to have some serious problems. I don’t know where to get the kangaroo for my movement! I also have no idea what I’m going to put in the wine glass. I want something that will look realistic, not a bunch of red wrapping paper. I could use that stuff that turns water into jelly, or red Kool Aide for that matter. I also should put some fancy red wine label in the cup.

That cup is causing a lot of trouble. My action is a kangaroo jumping up over the top of the car and coming back down then repeating itself. The wine glass has to be on the top of the car though. It's not too hard to move the kangaroo (well maybe) but I have a feeling that I’m going to have a lot of trouble gluing it on to the Aussie Outback Down Under Jeep.

I found some new things! I have empty slide holders which I’m going to put some little pictures of Australia in. I also have another plain bottle cap, like the bronze one but only a dark gold. I may find some more items, but that is all for now.

I think that I will make Australia out of sand paper. It would be cool, it’s original! I also have a plan to put a little dingo hanging out of the window on a paper clip that I stretch out. one would go on his neck and one end would go on his tail. If I make him the right weight, he will go back and forth when the car moves. If I can’t possibly get the kangaroo done, but I get the light done I think the dingo would count as a movement.

I'll probably get the kangaroo done, I found a design I like. It won’t work the way I thought it would, but it will work. The kangaroo will have to go back and forth, though. There are still problems with the idea. I will have to get the kangaroo to go slowly. Even before worrying about that, I have to get it to move!

This shows some of the new things at the rear end of the car. It was one of my latest drawings.

My art car is coming along fine. I got the wheels painted, now they have little green squiggles on them. They're supposed to be snakes. When I put the writing on the wheels that says that Australia has the most poisonous snakes in the world, it’ll make more sense.

I now have another idea! This time it’s for motion. I found a motion that can turn around. It would be perfect for a boomerang; also more interesting than a kangaroo jumping up and down. If I still liked the idea of having a kangaroo on the motion I could draw one on the boomerang. I can’t wait! Even having Halloween tomorrow doesn’t stop me!

I’m getting tired of my motion; everything from little pieces of Lego to the motor to the model. I can’t wait till I get to glue and paint. It will be lot more interesting than my motion. Right now I have wandered off track and started thinking about my water windows.

My water windows have some blue stuff behind them. Then I’ll put a platypus on one of the pieces of blue stuff. On top of that I’ll put this magnifying lense. It will make the platypus look larger. I just can’t wait till it happens!

For the pictures of Australia, I will put one of scenery and another of a famous person, maybe more. To get the pictures accurate, I’ll bring my Australia cards. Another idea for the pictures is to chop of the top of one and the bottom of another. That would make one big one. I could make three of those (probably), one it the front, one in the bumper and one on the sides.

I now have a cricket and a motion! I decided not to do a boomerang but do the kangaroo. Devon’s sun helped me a lot, without it my car would have no motion! Even if the axle doesn’t have the kangaroo, I’m happy!

I added the kangaroo. It’s really tiny compared to what I first thought it would be. Well, anyway, it’s name is Bongo.

The other thing I got done was Australia. I cut it out of sandpaper, labeled it, and stuck it on my car, smack in the middle.

I have some ideas for my water today. I want to make one fishy look like he’s swimming. I’ll delete the blue background, it makes him look to dark. Another idea that I have is to put a fish on the side of Australia where the Great Barrier Reef is. The fish will be sort of spread out, with it’s tail pushed out. I’ll draw a few layers of water around Australia, then I’ll write Great Barrier Reef under the little “shelter” that the fish provides.

There is always sadness in this process. I found that my perfectly painted wine glass won’t fit the way I wanted it to! I may find another place to put it, but I think "street legal" when I think Art Cars; not all Art Cars, but the ones that we’re making.

I’m almost done! I have both of the sides painted and some beaded stuff. Ayers Rock is on one side, and a sun is on the back. Maybe I shouldn’t say almost, I have to attach the string.

I need something to pull the car, finish some other stuff and I’m done. Well, really close to. Does Ms.T want us fill in the rubric?

I now have to make a kangaroo out of Model Magic, the other one was to flimsy. I attached a bottle to the car and added a pink fish to the side without a fish. I did a lot of adding today. I even added a string to pull the car. Well, I have to work on that a bit.

I have a new motion! The old motion couldn’t handle the weight of my beanie baby kangaroo. Though it took a little while to make, its done. There may be only one problem with it. It may not be able to hold the weight. Argh! I hope something can move and hold the wait of my kangaroo! alison

Here it is.
My car is done! It’s done! Well, not really. I’m not so sure about that shampoo bottle. It's made in the U.S.A!

My car is finished! Kangaroo and all! PIctures and all! Videos and all! Crickets and all! I’m especialy happy about the crickets. I think I’m going to start a nature program. “Crickets. The talkitive little beings belong to the computer family. While sometimes they beep, often they communicate to one another with fast, yellow, flashes of light. Their sense of knowledge comes from the computer, and a teacher cricket teaches the other one the downloaded information. These crickets go out to the world now with a job, and will be hooked up to thier mechanism blah blah blah”. Sounds about right, doesn’t it? I sure am glad that it’s over. Even though making a nature program for crickets’ could be kind of fun...

My car looks different. I have a felt kangaroo now. It works a lot better than the paper one. I also had to reprogram my cricket, and make a wall for it, and put it in the right way, and change the motion.

You can watch a movie of my finished car.
