A sculpture is a 3D statue. Kinetic sculpture is a statue that has the ability to move. Kinetic motion is when you’re sweeping, moving back and forth, running, waving, falling, drifting, swinging, swaying, crawling, wavering, or whizzing. I had to create two shapes that are related to each other when they are in motion. The motion came from my crank. The biggest problem that I had was my crank. My objects would not move when I turned my crank. I had to sand down my dowels so that they would spin more easily, and I switched my crank. I tried another idea for the crank. It was made from a bottle cap and a spool, and it was on the top of the box. I used my finger to spin it around. A ribbon and velcro attached to each other helped the crank spin the other objects around. I learned how to use different shapes, like abstract shapes and letters. I also watched others show how their idea works and moves. We used different tools to make another different shape for our project.
