My drawing of the Sploggy Mobile. |
Today I started to work on the Sploggy Mobile. The Sploggy mobile is covered with seed beads and it has grapes on it, because Sploggy specializes in growing grapes. The state flower, bird and tree will be made out of seed beads. I think that I will have the background be the different weather in all the states of sploggy. There will be bead buildings inside. Their lights blink on and off. I hope that when I am finished the car will have originality and express my made up word “sploggy.” This car I hope will let everyone know that you should go further with things that you consistently like to, whether it’s a made up word or a person , Go further with it. Even if people don’t like that I have a made up a word on my car, I still think that I should keep going with It.

| Today I drew a diagram of my ideas for my car and collected the bases. I’m only missing one ingredient, SEED BEADS. That is the main ingredient.
The car will be outlined with grapes because a famous person in sploggy is GRAPE MOUTH.

Today I am going to start putting the bases together, I hope... Things are going very well I am going to program my cricket to turn the lights on and off in the building. I think I am going to make the sun rise and set for my motion...Yeah, that’s it.

| I’m still missing seed beads, but I’ve got the sun thing down. It moves up and down.
I was just experimenting with a whole bunch of legos to get the right thing to hold my movement inside my car, and I was putting on a whole bunch of extra legos and found out I only needed 1!
Okay, so I was wrong. My motion just does NOT work !

This is me experimenting with all those legos. |

| I have started working on glueing beads on my car but they keep falling off.
After much deliberation I have decided not to do my lights because it would take too long. I really hope to get all my beads sorted today, it is a very tidious job but it saves a lot of time later on. I hope I have time to do the grape-mouth thing. (Glueing rubber grapes t the edges of my car.) |

Today Ms. T suggested making the different states of Sploggy on my car out of magazine pics and it WORKED! This is amazing, my car originally started out as something totally different than what it turned out to be. Today I cut out the states from environmental magazines and then glued them onto my car with varnish. |

Today I finished glueing on my magazine pictures and i still don't have the grape mouth thing done. |
This is the finished product of the magazine nature photos glued on my car with varnish. |

| I made a new sun. My last one was overworked. It was all fringy with Sharpie lines all over it and made out of flimsy construction paper. My new sun is now a foam ball wrapped in yarn and it looks neat .
My grapes kept on falling off so Ms.T glued them on with really hot glue. Now they’re fine.
I’m now going to look back at my first notes and original plan and see how it changed over the months. Here are my results:
1.The “Cover it all in seed beads” thing was dumped Why? Too expensive and also too much work.
2. The state flower, tree, and bird thing was way too hard and I dumped it after a while. Also, it had the seed beed problem.
3. I kept the concept of the different states of sploggy. But I didn’t do the weather because it looked to news-reporter-ish.
I did do the different environments in sploggy though out of magazine environmental photos. I decided that Sploggy land had almost no city and buildings because I don’t like big citys.
4. The bead buildings with the flashing lights got dumped because
A) it was too hard
B) You know my thing with seed beads...
C) The lights probably wouldn’t show up.
D) It was too artificial, like a city.
Instead, I have the sun rising and setting in sploggy land and a apartment building beacause people need a small place to live like apartments.

This is the bird's-eye veiw of my car. You see the foam ball sun wrapped in yarn? Do you see the cricket and motor? Do you see the rubber grapes? |
