| I want my car to look like a snake because I like snakes. The car will have a tail that moves from left to right. When the car is done it will be covered in scales or scale like tip things.

These are what I'm going to use for the scales. |
For the eyes I will use the two front windows. I want to add the stuff for scales on my car. IÕve got all of the pieces. Some of them are little circle, starry things.

| Today I got my motion thing to work. The car now can move its tail and make a hissing sound. The eyes are almost finished. All have to do is put something yellow on the two front windows. I also want to put something on top of my car.

Today I put some of the scales on my art car. I also finished the eyes on my art car. The tail on my art car is done, too. The outside of my art car is almost done. I am going to need more scales for the other half of my art car. I still need a top to my art car.

The cricket tells the motor what to do. |
Today I finished putting the scales on. I am trying to find a way to connect the tongue to my motion. I want to put a top on my car so the people canÕt see in my car. In the front of the top will be a flap so I can turn on the motion.

| Today I made a top for my car. The tongue is finished it is connected and moves. I found out that the back wheels don't move. I think when the back wheels move my car will be done.

Today I got the wheels to move. The problem was the back wheels were too tight. I fixed it by pulling the wheels apart. I also made my carÕs movement repeat itself. I glued the scales that fell off back on. The top kept falling off so I tied a string around it.

| The hardest part making my art car was putting the scales on the side of the car because it took a long time. They kept falling off, and they couldnÕt touch the wheels or any of the moving parts. My motion wasnÕt that hard because it didnÕt take that long. When youÕre writing the program for the motion, you can just delete it if you make a mistake. But if you glue the scales in the wrong place, the glue dries. For example, when I was gluing the front wheels, glue got stuck in them. When I pulled the car, the front wheels wouldnÕt turn, so I had to cut the glue out of the wheels.
This is why I decided to make a snake car: I was at home and we had just gotten rid of our rat, so we could get one new pet. I wanted to get a reptile, but my sister didnÕt want to get a snake. So I decided to make a snake car. |

The gear. |
It made sense for my motion to be a moving tail because thatÕs how snakes move. I decided to make the tongue move after I made the tail move, and I made the tongue connect to the same motor as the tail. Inside of the car thereÕs a gear that is connected to the motor. Two different axles are connected to the gear with a 90 degree axle connector. One of the axles goes to the tail, and the other goes to tongue. When the motor turns, the gear spins, and that pulls the axles in a circle, back and forth and in and out.
