Aural Painter

Hi all! So, I was out in Missoula the first week in August and ran across a painter who was more of a performance artist. He hooked up his brushes to an amp so while he painted, he was also making a musical performance. He also had back-up from a drummer and a bass player while he painted. And for brushes he used something that looked like a barbecue skewer, with metal strands. It was very interesting! He would put the brush up to his lips and would vocalize, which created some really distorted sounds. I kept wondering how this would play out with a cricket involved? It reminded me in concept of the ice theremin, but generating some physical product while playing. 0631scope_0.jpg Marcus E. Brown - sonic painter.
