Here's the machine I used for the spin art: spinart07_0.jpg Here's the machine that I made as a platform for the spin art machine. It's based on this spin art turntable design on the PIE Network site.] The simple, single direction turned on and off with a touch sensor. Here's the program: touch2spin_0_0.jpg A program for the spin art machine that starts and stops with the touch sensor.

spinart02.jpg Drawing made with a simple spinner. During the workshop this spring, I worked with a spin art machine. This first drawing is made with watercolor, a very fine brush, and a spinner that spinned in one direction. I experimented with the speed of the motor a bit -- too slow, and it just didn't have enough power to turn the paper. spinart06.jpg Made with a spinner that goes forward and backward.

Spinning spin.jpg Five things spinning I wanted to see if I could use a cricket motor to spin things, then take a long-exposure photograph and see how the thing - whatever it was - was transformed by motion. Sitting still.jpg Five things sitting.
