Dan and I are talking about how to capture the work folks might do creating vinettes. These are videos from both sides of the screen:

Insect-like?
I tried making an insect-like creature. It's all made out of scraps of foam core and tag board. I thought by scoring and folding the foam core to make a sort of jointed body, the insect would move in an interesting way.
Insect made of jointed foam core. This "bobbing" motion module would be good for making the insect move. The motor etc could be hidden in grass beneath the insect. Maybe you could blow on the grass to make the bug move?
skins and surfaces
After talking to Margaret and seeing her paper exoskeletons I was wondering about how to get materials to seem alive. A little movement, a little sound. So I started thinking about blankets. Some time ago Margaret made a little green cloth worm-like thing with a lego motor inside with a gear attached to the motor. When it turned on, it wriggled. Very subtle movement, and it appeared to be alive.
